Libraries Transform: Tennessee Library Association 2012


TennesseeLibrary Association (TLA) is holding their annual conference in Knoxville this year on March 21-23.

The conference theme is Libraries Transform.

Several Preston Medical Library staff are attending and/or presenting at the conference.

Sandy Oelschlegel, Library Director and president of the Tennessee Health Science Library Association (THeSLA), will participate in a  TLA membership promotion roundtable.

Michael Lindsay, Serials and Web Services Librarian at Preston, will present Transforming the Library Website: You and the IT Crowd.

Katy Justiss, a graduate student in the UTK School of Information Sciences and Graduate Student Assistant at Preston, will present Creating Community: Using a Peer Mentor Program to Enhance Student Experience.

Katy will also be honored as the recipient of the Gleaves Scholarship Award.

Sara Horne, a graduate student in the UTK School of Information Sciences and a library student assistant at Preston, will serve as a conference volunteer.

Other Preston-affiliated attendees include Elizabeth Hinton, Postgraduate Library Intern, and Adam Kemper, Library Student Assistant, MSLIS.
